Software Compensation 2007–Is it 1999 All Over Again? – Steve McConnell has a look at software developer compensation. Anecdotally, I’ve seen the same thing with product management jobs lately. There are more of them and compensation is improving.
Google’s stopgap – We like to think of our products like children, that they’ll grow up, be well-respected and eventually grow old gracefully. But some products have a limited lifespan and it’s obvious from the day they’re released (I once had a product like this).
